You know
in the movies when an idea comes to a character? The angels sing, clouds part
and a light shines on their faces? This is exactly what happened to me when I
concocted this idea to make a burger, but stuff the beef with cheese before
cooking.
All I kept thinking is why on earth isn't that the way cheese burger patties are made. There is nothing worse than a burger where the cheese melts on top and gets hard. Here the cheese stays hot because its inside the meat. Genius!!
The bacon
jam was made for this burger, it adds the sweet, while the garlic mayo leaves a
lovely garlicky finish. You can use any cheese you like. I am a little
obsessed with the smooth Smokey flavor of smoked Gouda. So I use it for
everything.
You really
have to taste it to believe it.
1. When cooking the sides for 2 mins, have your heat on high, but be sure to turn your grill/stove on low setting when the burgers are steaming in the foil. or else the cheese will get extremely hot and escape the beef.
2. If you don't have a grill you can cook them in a frying pan with a little butter or oil. The same 2 mins each side 5 min foil method applies.
