Time for Takeout!

Say hello to the final recipe for take-out month. Chicken chow mein, a lovely dish of sautéed meat and veggies usually served over noodles or rice. This home-made version is crispy and flavorful; perfect for a quick weekday dinner.

Parsley soufflé omelette

The best way to eat an egg!

In researching omelette types I discovered the soufflé omelette. An interesting method where the whites are whipped separately from the yolks then combined to make a fluffier fuller omelette. I decided to use a few herbs, some flavored cheese and put the method to the test. It really does work.

Broccoli Omelette

The best way to eat an egg!

It’s always a good thing when you can include veggies in breakfast without drinking it. Fried Broccoli & Cauliflower bites

M...eat...less

Fresh out of the fryer and slightly cooled, crispy, flavorful, aromatic and delicious. That is how these fried broccoli and cauliflower bites can be described. The idea to dip broccoli in a batter and fry it just never occurred to me. Yes I know what a tempura is and I’ve had shrimp and asparagus tempura several times, I’ve even deep fried okra. However the thought to batter fry broccoli had never etched a place in my brain until now.  This all occurred a few weeks ago while I was being thoroughly entertained by watching Auntie Fee. When she did her fried broccoli recipe, a light bulb definitely went off.

Broccoli and cheese Pull apart bread....my 100th post

M...eat...less

I was totally inspired so much so that since then I have made three pull apart breads. The first one was a garlic and cheese bread, the second was a cinnamon raisin with orange glaze and now finally this beauty.
