Veggie fruit pops

M..eat..less

This is my Spring time three for one special, because you are getting three recipes in this one post. I wanted to make something easy and healthy. So what better way to get your daily dose of vitamins and minerals by sucking on some yummy pops. Now you guys know, I show you what works and what does not, I don’t hide things. Two of these pops were truly a WIN however one was an epic FAIL. Well not a total fail, but I’ll tell you more as you read further.

There are three flavors, Limey Yogurberry, Carrot Mangopine, and Kale Applegin. Now the limy Yogurberry and Carrot Mangopine are of-the-chain delicious and they make great pops. However the Kale Applegin does not make a good ice pop. It makes a great drink. So even though I froze mine to test it out, I would recommend having this as a refreshing green drink and not really a frozen pop.

The Kale Applegin separates in its liquid state. So by the time it’s a frozen pop all the solids settle at the bottom and the lighter liquid on top. So the flavor is super concentrated at the tip of the ice-pop and fresh and bland at the base. So I will be making the Kale Applegin in the future as a delicious refreshing healthy drink.

Now on to the winners; Limey Yogurberry and Carrot mangopine, who by the way also make great smoothies due to their texture. The limy yogurberry is sweet sour and creamy, you can add as much or as little lime juice as you please. The Carrot Mangopine is loaded with mango and carrot flavors with a hint of citrusy pineapples. They are super easy to make and require no added sugar. Just purely the ingredients listed below. Just make sure to use very sweet fruits, especially the apples in the Kale Applegin and the berries in the Limy Yogurberry as they serve as the natural sweetener for the drink.

This was suppose to be a video post but as luck would have it after 5 faithful years of service, My sisters Mac crashed mid-edit. So its a written post for this Friday, but hopefully next Friday we will be back to our regularly scheduled programming. By the way Happy Easter! Hope your baking some bun check out my recipe here too.

    • if your fruits are not sweet just stir in 2 tablespoons of honey or agave into the mixture before freezing
