Classic baked Macaroni and Cheese

 "Christmas is coming"

Have you ever been to a Christmas dinner without mac and cheese? I can say with a certainty that I have never been to any form of family dinner or special occasion that did not have macaroni and cheese in some form. So here it is, my simple, easy, cheesy and delicious version of the classic. I’m sure you’re thinking, I already know how to make this, but you don’t know how to make it like me :)

Grilled zucchini sandwich

Lunchables

I don’t know if you all have noticed, but I have been trying to include vegetarian dishes into the lunchables month. So each week will feature one meat dish and one vegetarian dish. Today I bring you a sandwich so delicious you won’t miss the meat one bit, a grilled zucchini sandwich.

Dan-ish

Easy Bake!

This pastry is as ad-hoc as can be. Ugly little buggers, I really didn’t even know what to call it. It’s not really a tart, not a croissant, it’s kind of like a danish…get it dan-ish?  I literally walked into the kitchen grabbed the three ingredients and went for it. Cheese, jam and puff pastry; three ingredients one would expect to be a winning combination.

Croque-Madame...No runny eggs here.. Sue me!

Breakfast is served

A whole lot of years ago, (my god we're old) when we were still in high school my sister took a French field trip to Saint Martin. I think it was probably the best field trip she has ever been on because she still raves about it to this day. That was the first time I heard about a most delicious sandwich called a Croque-Madame and monsieur. Essentially a French ham, egg and cheese sandwich, and who doesn't love a ham, egg and cheese sandwich?

“Creamozzagouda” sticks

Appetizing...

Who would have ever thought that homemade mozzarella sticks were even attemptable, (who knew attemptable was even a word :) I had no idea what to make for this post, I had planned doughnuts, however was in no mood to deal with yeast. So I began asking my friends and family what are their favorite appetizer items on a restaurant’s menu. I got wings, and shrimp both already on the blog, then someone said if mozzarella sticks are on a menu they have to order it, And I got very excited.

Dutch Pancakes 'Pannekoek'

Pancake Month!

pan·cake/ˈpanˌkāk/
Noun; A thin, flat cake of batter, usually fried and turned in a pan.

It’s really amazing the different ways pancakes are made in the various cultures; similar in so many ways while maintaining their special unique qualities.  This Dutch pancake or Pannekoek is no exception, one of my favorite discoveries, it is absolutely genius!  To combine all the breakfast staples into one dish, its almost like a pancake omelet or better yet a breakfast pizza.

Four Cheese Pumpkin Penne

a.k.a Grown up Macaroni and Cheese

Cookout and BBQ Season!

A beautiful rainy morning (a work day I might add) I woke up and decided I’m not going to work. Nope, I am in the mood to stay home and cook something real hearty and comforting in the cold and gloomy weather. I knew I wanted something different, something I never cooked before or have never seen anyone else cook. I had purchased some pumpkin a few days before, as well as an interesting butternut squash pasta sauce, so I figured I could incorporate them in some way. Headed down to the kitchen with a pumpkin and a dream.

Calling all Burger lovers

You know in the movies when an idea comes to a character? The angels sing, clouds part and a light shines on their faces? This is exactly what happened to me when I concocted this idea to make a burger, but stuff the beef with cheese before cooking.
