Chicken Chow Mein

Time for Takeout!

Say hello to the final recipe for take-out month. Chicken chow mein, a lovely dish of sautéed meat and veggies usually served over noodles or rice. This home-made version is crispy and flavorful; perfect for a quick weekday dinner.

This was a really delicious meal, the chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy and the veggies were plump and crispy. I may have added a bit too much sauce for my liking. However my aunt loves the extra gravy for her rice. That bit of cornstarch really helped to thicken up the sauce very quickly in the stir fry chicken and veggies ( If you don’t like cornstarch you could also use potato starch).

While editing the video my sister was seriously contemplating remaking this dish at 12 midnight. She said if I have all the ingredients I’m making this right now. I couldn’t blame her; it’s easy, flavorful and relatively healthy. This dish reminds me of chicken and broccoli

Speaking of chicken and broccoli; if you’re a fan of chicken and broccoli you can easily tweak this recipe to make it. Follow the direction for the same chicken, same sauce however the only veggies you would use are onions, loads of shredded garlic (about 3-4 large cloves) and broccoli. Using all those tweaks and the same method you will have yourself a fabulous chicken and broccoli meal as well .. The last recipe for the month and you kind of got a two for one special. Let’s see who will make this and share it with me on Instagram @greedygirlcooks
