Savory curry oatmeal bowl with mushroom “bacon” and hash

M...eat...less

You will never look at oatmeal the same again. It does not have to be sweet, or have cinnamon, or be used in a granola. Your oatmeal bowl can be savory and curried. It actually works so very well as a savory dish I’m surprised people don’t do it more often. It would seem this grain has been put in a box and forced to stay there, time to let the beast loose.

Brownie cookies

"Feast of Saint Valentine"

I have made quite a few cookies, but this one right here?....arguably the best cookies I have ever made in my life. It’s no secret that I love my cookies chewy. Not thin, not crispy, not big, but thick and chewy.  Last year I tweaked Alton browns cookie recipe and came up with a superb chocolate chip oatmeal cookie. This years cookie just might have beaten the superstar of last year’s chocolate month. It is divine, if you love chocolate, or cookies you must attempt to make these!

Pear oatmeal crumble

Easy Bake!

I know I said this was easy bake month, and while this recipe has a little bit more than  5 ingredients and took a little longer than 30 minutes, its still just as easy as can be. I think pears are the most amazing fruit to have warmed. Their flavor is perfect with cinnamon, sugar and butter. Not to mention the texture of the pear itself very velvety, I’ve always said I much prefer pears to apples, and this recipe is a shining example of why.
