Cherry chocolate chip cheesecake Blondie’s

"Feast of Saint Valentine"

The last recipe of chocolate month, and I am so happy to be done with chocolate (for now). I find the months where my theme centers around one ingredient gets really tedious by the third week. None-the-less I decided to bring these Blondie’s to the blog. Why? because I made these for the first time as Christmas treats that I put in mini dessert jars and gave to family members. I didn’t add the cherries or chocolate chips then, so I thought it would be a great way to revamp the recipe.

Chocolate cupcakes with Ganache n bacon

"Feast of Saint Valentine"

Well if is isn't chocolate and meat....again. This time good ole bacon.

Remember as a child, when you did not want your food to touch? Your eggs bacon and pancakes had to be totally separated. Then you grew a little older and accidentally had pancakes, bacon and syrup all in one bite. You enjoyed the salty sweet combo. To seal the deal Mc Donald’s introduced the bacon egg and cheese mc griddles and you dared to brave this new territory of salty sweets. Yes I remember too, I think everyone on earth realized at the same time, how great a combo it was. I’m sure that’s when the world council unanimously decided that bacon should top everything, not just a breakfast plate.  And I totally agree with their decision.

Creamy Chocolate vodkatini

"Feast of Saint Valentine"

I have taken you through breakfast, lunch and now dinner in the chocolate drinks department. Trying to figure out a simple chocolate alcoholic beverage recipe was a bit hard. I know nothing about mixology and I don’t even drink. But a few trial and errors led me to this delicious concoction.

Chocolate Banana Fritters

 "Feast of Saint Valentine"

I will say that this month of chocolate recipes have truly tested my recipe imagination skills. I find the month were I focus on one ingredient, making the recipes versatile tend to be quite a challenge.  So far using chocolate I’ve made french toast, orange hot chocolate, ribs, a milk shake and now fritters. Cocoa and banana yes, please and thank you.

3 Ingredient Chocolate Shake

 "Feast of Saint Valentine"

Next to hot chocolate, a milk shake is the most common of the chocolate beverages. However I was sure no ice would be blended in this shake. 1 I don’t have a powerful smoothie blender, and 2 don’t you hate when the ice and other ingredients settle and separate? Yuk, so I came up with this simple recipe that is beyond easy using no blended ice. Best part is you already have all the ingredients…hopefully

Chocolate Raspberry Ribs

"Feast of Saint Valentine"

Chocolate sauce on meat, yup I had to try it. I figured if I’m going to do a month of chocolate I had to at least attempt to make some kind of meat with chocolate. Obviously chicken or seafood is out of the question (I’m not that adventurous) , that left only pork and beef, and I thought ribs might be a good option, since it normally pairs well with sweeter sauces.

Orange Hot chocolate

"Feast of Saint Valentine"

There is just something about a rich warm cup of hot chocolate that makes you feel warm, fuzzy and special inside. If you’ve read my post on a chocolate orange crepe you would have already known I have an obsession with the flavors of orange and chocolate paired. I don’t know what it is, but I think the sweet citrus aromas of an orange with milk chocolate are just the perfect match. In my book, nothing else pairs better with chocolate; not mint, not strawberries, not even hazelnut (sorry Nutella). Orange and chocolate equal’s bliss, and this orange hot chocolate is blissful.

Chocolate French Toast for two

"Feast of Saint Valentine"

Now it’s only January 3rd, but tell me what’s the décor in your local pharmacy or gift shop? What’s stocked on all shelves right now? Are you noticing pink red and white everywhere? That can only mean one thing, Valentine’s Day. I figure you may be in the market for some chocolate gifts between now and February 14th so all the recipes this month will include chocolate as the main ingredient.  To start things off right let’s get to the best meal of the day; breakfast. This Jamaican holsum hard dough bread has been elevated to new height of awesome deliciousness. I think if your significant other loves chocolate, you’re sure to snag a proposal shortly after serving them this French toast.

Homemade Fried Chicken

"Greedy Girl Eats"

For me fried chicken is one of the hardest things to make. I feel like restaurants in Jamaica set the bar so high with how amazingly delicious their fried chicken is that the home made ones just seem to fall short. That is why I went on the quest to find the best fried chicken; one that was seasoned, spicy and would remain crispy. I found the best one in Negril and now I'm making my own.
