Smoked Garlic and herb butter

I can't believe its butter!

I can't believe I made butter! Every time I make whip cream, a little voice says, "Not too much. Don't want it to become butter," but for some reason, I never took it literally. It's like I didn't believe that if I kept on whipping, it would become butter even though I knew that that is how they make butter. This time I kept on beating, but not before smoking the cream.

Coconut Cream Truffle butter pumpkin soup

M...eat...less

It always happens that the day I decide to cook soup is a cold and gloomy day. I had potato soup down to make but then I used the potatoes for dinner the day before. My mother had a pumpkin and I found some truffle butter in the refrigerator, a-las a recipe is born.

Sweet chili garlic lobster pops

"Something Smells Fishy"

This is a pretty great way to cook lobster. garlic, sweet, and spicy, are a match made in foodie heaven. And for anyone who loves lobster, this is a really easy way to make it in the kitchen not requiring a grill or any fancy equipment. Not to mention turning it into a “pop” will make it the star of your next party.

Foil roast curry conch with pumpkin and okra

"Something Smells Fishy"

This was a simple and easy dish. I only had to get one pot dirty, and in all fairness if I didn’t use any curry powder, I wouldn’t have made a mess of any pots at all. Seasoned conch, tossed with pumpkin, okra and spices wrapped in foil and cooked until tender.

Steamed mussels in a garlic tomato wine sauce

"Something Smells Fishy"

This was a recipe I made a while back for my insta stories and decided I would remake it for the blog. If it were up to me my seafood month would have nothing more than fish and shrimp recipes. But because I know there is so much more under the sea, I try my best to produce recipes that contain all types of distinct species. So, to kick off March, we start with some mussels.

Best breakfast pizza ever!

Brunch knows best

Brunch, the most epic combination of breakfast and lunch. And what’s more fitting for brunch, than a pizza with bacon and eggs? I adore breakfast and it goes without saying that brunch is up there on my list. Lately, I have been on a pizza high, I don’t know why, but I have just been making all kinds of pizzas. After the success of the last pizza I decided that the blog is most definitely in need of a breakfast pizza.

Chili garlic Shrimp noodles

"Something Smells Fishy"

The next stop for a month of seafood is a lovely shrimp noodle dish I whipped up for dinner last night. Spicy, sweet, full of garlic with my favorite pad thai noodles. If you love spicy Asian specifically Chinese flavors you will absolutely adore this recipe.

Creamy Garlic Lobster

"Christmas is coming"

Lobster is always on our Christmas table. I hate the taste of lobster but I somehow manage to cook it every single Christmas whether it be grilled, garlic or in a pasta. Today I did a remake of a lobster that I previously posted to the blog “Garlic parsley grilled lobster” this is basically the same recipe but using a whole lot more garlic, butter and cream.

Rosemary garlic sweet potato rice

"Potato Patata"

This month it’s all about potatoes. Potatoes are one of the most versatile starches out there.  You can do any and everything with them. Have you ever mixed it with rice? This is seriously a carbohydrates overload but it’s a really good recipe.

Spinach and Herb garlic bread

 M...eat...less

Yummy time again, I am the uncrowned garlic bread queen. If you didn’t know now you know. I always make really quick mini batches for dinner using left over bread ends.  This garlic bread is a little different from my usual quick ones. I added cheese and veggies to the mix just to make myself feel better about eating the whole thing.

Pumpkin Garlic Knots

“Pumpkin Everythang”

Garlic knots are a staple at every pizzeria I’ve ever been to. They are almost always delicious, warm, salty and garlicky. Sometimes the garlic can be a little too harsh and sometimes they whole thing can be way too oily. So let’s take it to the kitchen and what we get is a recipe for the best garlic knots ever; sweet, salty garlicky, buttery ,everything that’s right about the world comes full circle in one bite of these.

Curry Butter Foil Roasted Corn

Summa Summa Summa time!

It’s time for some BBQ’s. This month it’s all about the best home-made side dishes for your picnics and BBQ’s. Chicken, ribs, hamburgers and hot dogs all need side dishes to make that summer plate complete.  I’m sure you’re going to get invited somewhere and you may need a “Wow” recipe. Or you’re the host and you want some epic food to go with the fun. In either case I’ve got you covered as usual. First up is a corn on the cob, but with a super delicious and interesting twist; Curry!

Mushroom Omelette

The best way to eat an egg!

There could not be an omelette month without this recipe. If there was an omlette kingdom the mushroom omelette would most definitely rule over the vegetarian court. The ever so versatile mushroom has a subtle flavor (depending on the variety) is meaty, filling and healthy to boot. I may have rendered the nutritional value null and void with a creamy parmesan filled mushroom sauce, but it’s worth every calorie.

Saucy Non-meatballs

M...eat...less

Almost everyone loves meatballs. Small convenient bite sized morsels that you can just pop in your mouth and enjoy. In my family it’s usually a challenge to make vegetarian dishes that my mother can enjoy while we enjoy our meat. Last year I decided to try my hand at a veggie meatball, since we were having beef meatballs for dinner. Turns out her vegetarian non-meatballs tasted way better than ours, and since then I have been working on the perfect recipe.

Quick veggie stir-fry

M...eat...less

For the next episode of meat less month we have the stir fry of veggies. Who doesn’t love a good vegetable stir fry? This one is extremely quick, easy and delicious. This stir fry is probably the most simple you will ever attempt, perfect on its own or with a side of…meat

Cheese patty in a rosemary garlic crust

Juici...and if you don't know, now you know!

The month culminates with a delicious and simple patty, probably the easiest to prepare of all the patties this month. Not only was it the easiest it was the most delicious. Who said a patty has to have anything else in it but cheese? Oh the wonder that is this patty, by far my absolute favorite of the month.

BBQ Pulled pork patty in a rosemary garlic crust

Juici...and if you don't know, now you know!

It is a rare occurrence when pork makes its way into a patty. And I don’t mean bacon, I mean pork; meaty and juicy, the other white meat. For this recipe I wanted to make a jerk pork patty but after thinking about it, I opted for low and slow. And a pulled pork patty is born.

Classic Jamaican Beef Cocktail Patty

Juici...and if you don't know, now you know!

As a Jamaican I can say I know a good patty. And many persons would agree we eat patties a great deal. However we hardly ever make them. I venture to say most Jamaicans have never and will never make a patty. But I’m sure you would be hard pressed to find one that has never eaten one. There are a few places that sell the best patties.
